The challenge

Luma Aesthetic is a medical spa in Maryland offering injectables, skin treatments and body work. The treatments are premium and the pricing reflects that. The website was working against both of those facts.

Med spa clients do not decide during business hours. They research at eleven at night, on a phone, often straight after seeing something on social, and they compare three or four clinics in one sitting. Whichever one lets them lock in a time before the impulse fades is the one that gets the appointment. The old setup asked them to call during business hours instead, which really means asking them to remember in the morning. Most did not.

There was a second problem underneath it, and it was the more expensive one. In this market a licensed injector in a clinical setting competes for attention with a discount studio down the road, and the customer often cannot tell the difference until after the treatment. The website is where that difference has to become visible. A site that looks ordinary makes premium pricing look arbitrary.

What I did

Booking is the site, not a feature bolted onto it. Direct appointment booking sits in the header and repeats through every treatment section. Someone who decides at midnight can pick a slot at midnight. Nothing mattered more than closing the gap between wanting the appointment and having it.

Three ways to reach them, because people are not the same. Booking for the ones who already know what they want. Click-to-call for the ones who need to ask something first. WhatsApp for the ones who want an answer but will never pick up the phone. Each of those is a real person who would otherwise leave, and adding all three costs almost nothing.

A premium look doing actual work. Generous spacing, calm type, restrained color, real imagery rather than stock. In this market the way a site looks is not decoration. It is the first evidence that the clinic is the kind of place its pricing implies, and it lands before anyone reads a word.

Treatments explained in plain language. What it is, who it suits, what to expect afterwards. People searching for injectables are usually part nervous and part half-informed. Answering the obvious questions on the page does two jobs: it makes booking feel safer, and it means consultations start further along instead of covering basics.

Built for the phone first. Nearly all of this traffic arrives on a phone. Every decision, from the size of the booking button to how far you have to scroll before you reach one, was made for that screen and then adapted upward, not the other way round.

Built on WordPress with Elementor, so the clinic can add treatments, adjust pages and swap seasonal offers themselves without coming back to me each time.

The outcome

The clinic now takes appointments around the clock. That was the whole point. Bookings that used to depend on somebody remembering to call in the morning now happen at the moment the person decides.

The front desk got time back as well. The questions that used to arrive as phone calls, what a treatment involves, how long it takes, what it costs, are answered on the page, so the calls that do come through are already further along.

And the site now argues for the pricing instead of undercutting it. For a med spa competing against cheaper options in the same zip code, that is not a cosmetic point. It is the reason someone picks the more expensive clinic before they have spoken to anyone.

It sits alongside Remarkable Aesthetics in my work as the same lesson in a different market: when the buying decision happens on a phone late at night, the website is not a brochure. It is the front desk.
